Himanta Sarma Meets Ratan Tata, Many Thanks Him For “Game Changing Financial Investment”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday fulfilled manufacturer Ratan Tata and thanked him for Tata’s upcoming 27,000 crore semiconductor plant in his state.

The Tata semiconductor center in Morigaon’s Jagiroad will place us on the world semiconductor map and transform the economic landscape of East India, Mr Sarma stated after his conference with Mr Tata and Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran in Mumbai.

“In behalf of individuals of Assam, I conveyed our wholehearted gratefulness to Shri Ratan Tata and Shri N Chandrasekharan for presenting remarkable conviction and faith in our State to implement this huge video game transforming investment. We anticipate the very first chips to present by 2025,” Mr Sarma claimed on X and identified images with Mr Tata and Mr Chandrasekaran.

During the meeting, Mr Sarma also reviewed developing an Ability Growth Centre that will certainly be co-located within the premises of the semiconductor facility in Morigaon’s Jagiroad.

Mr Sarma also stated that the Skill Development Centre will equip youths from North East by providing them programs in Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors and electronics and will certainly help them in protecting jobs in the Jagiroad unit.

“Currently 1,500 young people from Assam, primarily ladies, are carrying out training at Tata facilities around Bangalore. This will certainly position them in management setting once the semiconductor center ends up being functional in 2025,” he stated.

Previously recently, Head of state Narendra Modi laid the structure stone of the Outsourced Semiconductor Setting Up and Test (OSAT) center in Morigaon.

The center is being set up by Tata Electronics Private Limited under the Modified System for Semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP).
