The law intends to give citizenship to non-Muslim travelers from these countries, who pertained to India before December 31, 2014.

BJP hails choice, Opposition slams
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday praised the decision to establish the Citizenship (Change) Act. He gave thanks to Amit Shah and PM Modi for assisting the minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan.
” The choice to enact the Citizenship (Modification) Substitute the welfare of experiencing humanity is historical. This has paved the way for a respectable life for the minority areas suffering from religious brutality in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan,” he said.
Rajasthan centimeters Bhajanlal Sharma said: “There was a demand for a long period of time. I wish to give thanks to PM Narendra Modi, home priest Amit Shah for supplying assistance to our bros who have originated from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan … They will certainly now get citizenship”.
West Bengal BJP Head of state Sukanta Majumdar took a jibe at chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
” Union Home Minister Amit Shah had currently said that we will put forward the guidelines and regulation of CAA before the Lok Sabha and we will certainly do whatever we claim. No one has an issue with it however our CM Mamata Banerjee is not able to sleep,” he claimed.
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, at the same time, questioned the federal government’s delay in implementing the rules.

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan described the Citizenship Modification Act (CAA) as a regulation that develops division along communal lines. He stated it will not be executed in Kerala.
” The government has repeatedly stated that the Citizenship Modification Act, which treats Muslim minorities as second-class citizens, will certainly not be implemented in Kerala.
